About Ma Deeters

Sometimes, tucked away in a small town like Luzerne, Michigan, you find a gem that makes you wonder how it stayed under the radar for so long. That’s what Ma Deeters feels like—a quaint, welcoming spot just off Deeter Road, where good food meets friendly faces. When a place can draw you in with its simplicity and charm, it’s only right to share that with the world.

Ma Deeters doesn’t scream pretentiousness; it delights and satisfies. The menu is an engaging mix of comfort food with their own little twist—think juicy burgers with just the right amount of customization, and pizzas that hit the sweet spot between crispy and chewy. There’s always something reassuring about sinking your teeth into a well-executed classic, like their loaded nachos or maybe the buffalo chicken sandwich that brings a perfect balance of heat and flavor. It doesn’t hurt, either, when the local brew selection offers the perfect accompaniment to any meal.

Set against the backdrop of Luzerne’s charming scenery, Ma Deeters offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle some might be accustomed to. The interior combines rustic elegance with a cozy warmth, making guests feel right at home the moment they walk in. It’s evident that the restaurant takes as much pride in its atmosphere as it does in its food. Reviews from locals and travelers often echo the same sentiment—that it's not just about a meal, it’s about the experience.

Accolades flow easily in casual conversation around Luzerne; many repeat guests attest to the consistent quality they’ve come to expect and love. It’s the kind of place where servers remember your name, and the chef might just pop out to ensure everything’s to your satisfaction. Ma Deeters has cleverly carved out a niche by doing the simple things just right, something all too rare these days.

In short, whether you’re a local looking for your next favorite haunt or just passing through Luzerne on a scenic drive, dropping by Ma Deeters promises a delightful detour. Such a spot might not plaster itself on the trendy must-visit lists, but for those who know, it’s a slice of comfort worth returning to again and again.

Every Sunday we come here and leave with no disappointments. Staff is friendly & has good sense of humor. The atmosphere is very fitting & the cooking is always great which they just got a new cook who makes some killer food! It's also ORV friendly which is a plus!

We stopped by for lunch and found the interior to be quite pleasant, exuding a charming "up north" atmosphere. We began our meal with some delicious cheese curds. I chose the fish basket, which came with two pieces of cod and fries, and opted to upgrade to onion rings. Both the fish and onion rings were excellent. My companion ordered the cowboy burger with an extra patty, and that was also really tasty. The service was good, and there was ample parking available (at least ten side-by-sides parked outside & still plenty of room). It's definitely worth stopping by! My only (minor) complaint was that they served Pepsi instead of Coke! Just a personal preference.

Visiting from out of town but have heard good things through family that this was the place to try when coming up north. Has been around for decades. I was not disappointed. Came for dinner on a Saturday night. Got the prime rib special with mashed potatoes Mac n cheese. Also ordered the bison burger with onion rings. Would recommend everything. The batter on the onion rings are perfection. The cook and flavor of the bison are worth coming back for. So came for lunch the next day and had to try the pizza, chicken tenders with fries. The pizza was too greasy but overall good flavor. The tenders were good have had better but can't complain. Wish I lived locally so I could come every week.

Dined here twice while on vacation in the area. Plenty of easy in and out parking for those towing toys. The food was good and very reasonably priced, as were the libations. The staff was friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere with plenty of space, several TV's and a bar which has the "local watering hole vibe". Beautiful outdoor seating! Try the smoked trout dip and mini tacos.

We have made this a weekly visit. This place has some awesome food! Their meatloaf is incredible, they have the best cheese curds, crab Rangoons. There is usually a special posted. I’m telling you they must have a trained chef, not just a cook, to come up with the menus they have. Exceptional!
